All charges for
audio recordings are by the hour. Please note,
for clearly recorded audios, the industry
standard is approximately one (1) hour of
professional transcription time for every 15
audio minutes, depending on the variables. It
could take any where from four (4) to six (6)
hours to transcribe a one (1) hour recoding.
This depends upon the variables. (See
below)

VARIABLES
range from audio sound quality to:
 |
-
The clarity of the
speaker(s) and how many speakers are on
the recording.
|
 |
-
Do they speak in natural,
easy to identify sentences? Or do they
talk on and on, tying everything
together with “and” or other similar
connection words?
|
 |
-
Do they frequently change
thoughts in mid-sentence all the time
and/or do they speak with many false
star5ts, stops, and/or trail off their
sentences without finishing their
thoughts?
|
 |
-
Do they have an accent,
or do they slur their speech?
|
 |
-
Do they speak very
quickly? (Fast speakers fit more words
in the same amount of audio minutes and
therefore, it takes longer to transcribe
their material.)
|
 |
These are the main
variables that affect the length of
transcription time to transcribe the
same length of audio minutes.

Manuscript Format:
A
version of the audio transcript, which includes
grammatical changes that are not important to a
listener, but help your reader to understand the
written version of your material with greater
ease. Please note if
this is requested there will be a separate
charge, which will be determined at the time it
is transcribed.
Please note also, that it is impossible to give
an estimate that is “written in stone” up front,
because there are so many variables with each
recording.
A verbal estimated project fee will be provided
before acceptance of each project, however:
• A sample of the client audio will be required
in order to do this.
• Please note – if
the original specifications change, The
Transcription Place reserves the right to amend
the original project estimate, after
consultation with the client.
• If the
audio quality turns out to be less than
originally described by the client, the project
estimate may need to be adjusted; however, as
soon as we realize this, we will stop working
until we contact the client and receive approval
to continue based on the new estimate.
•
All errors in a completed project are the
client’s final responsibility. Any errors on our
part will be corrected without additional charge
within 2 days of project completion, or 7 days
for very large projects. |
